Some Information About Myself...
I recently retired from midwifery due to a knee injury but am still keen to maintain my interest in ante-natal care and to have contact with expectant mothers.
I aim to use my considerable experience to help you prepare for parenthood in a way which is interesting and instructive but informal.
I have 4 children myself and most of my time as a midwife has been spent in the community in Nottinghamshire. I believe that effective ante-natal education is an essential part of the journey towards becoming good parents. In our present climate many young families often move away from their home town and are unable to experience the benefits of support from an extended family. Friends do play a large part in filling that gap and it is my experience that the friends you make during your ante-natal period can become the closest and most long-lasting - something which I personally have found invaluable.
I would like to offer all of you the opportunity to share information, discuss plans for the birth of your baby, provide valuable information about your local services and offer professional advice, all within an informal and supportive group situation.
This will be through a series of four 2 hour workshops located in a choice of comfortable venues. For more information on the courses available click here.
I really do look forward to meeting you
